Record Snowfall Impacts the Buffalo Bills

All eyes have been on Buffalo, NY this week as portions of the city have received record breaking amounts of lake-effect snow. One organization being crippled by the snowfall is the Buffalo Bills.

The Bills are scheduled to have a home game against the New York Jets this Sunday at 1pm EST. Unfortunately, four to five feet of snow has blanketed the stadium and the Bills estimate that 220,000 tons of snow will need to be removed before the game tomorrow.

The Bills have reached out to the public and are offering $10/hr and free tickets to anyone who comes and helps to shovel snow out of the stadium.

The Bills also are having communication problems with the team as most of the players are unable to travel and meet for practice. Coaches have resorted to emailing game film and video chatting their players. Despite these problems with the snowfall, players seem to be having a good time.

The weather doesn’t look it will cooperate with snow removal efforts as another round of lake-effect snow is expected to dump another two feet of snow across portions of Buffalo. Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing this weekend which should help to melt some of the snow pack.
