Heavy rain hit Ventura County in California Friday, causing a mudslide and prompting the evacuation of 11 homes. The same area, about an hour north of Los Angeles, was hit by a wildfire in May of 2013 that scorched 24,ooo acres. The burn scar left by this wildfire has made the area particularly prone to flash flooding. One man was trapped and later rescued, but no other injuries were reported. The evacuation was necessary in that it was too dark to assess if further mudslides could impact the Camarillo Springs community (CNN).
