Severe Weather Again??

Severe weather may be on the way once again and Monday night looks to be the estimated time of arrival. A deep negatively tilted trough will push through the area over the day Sunday night through Monday. Temperatures will warm into the low 80’s, allowing for the atmosphere to become moderately unstable for this time of year. The SPC has already issued a 30% chance of severe weather across the region and points south for Monday.

Along with plenty of instability, the shear and helicity values will be high enough to cause some rotation within the thunderstorms. Isolated tornadoes may become a concern in areas.

Overall, as the setup looks now, heavy rain, frequent lightning, gusty winds, and isolated tornadoes will all be a concern come Monday night.
