6am 54º – 9am 56º – 12pm 60º – 3pm 61º – 6pm 58º

Today will be nearly 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. A stationary front is stalled out just south of the Kentucky boarder, allowing colder air to sink into the region. This will also suppress some of the heavier rainfall tomorrow to the south. We will still see our share of showers moving through, however southern Tennessee will be the rainfall winners tomorrow. The temperature tomorrow afternoon will be topping out in the low 60’s. Check out the sharp temperature gradient across the Mississippi Valley.

Monday – Rain Likely – High 80º / Mon Night – Thunderstorms Likely – Low 58º

More rain is expected early Monday. Temperatures will warm nicely into the upper 70’s to low 80’s b Monday afternoon with possible sunshine. This will aid the instability across the region and allow for some stronger thunderstorms to sweep through the south central Kentucky area. Heavy rainfall will accompany these storms and may produce localized flooding Monday evening. The NAM is showing some decent mean layer CAPE across the region Monday afternoon. While severe thunderstorms are expected to remain to the south and west of Bowling Green, some strong storms with heavy rain, gusty winds and frequent lightning are possible. A severe thunderstorm warning or two cannot be ruled out if a squall line develops late Monday evening.
