Friday’s Bowling Green Weather Update

Real-Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

————————————————————————————————————————————–

This Afternoon – Mostly Cloudy, Rain Likely – High 73º / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy; Rain Likely – Low 53º

3pm 73º – 6pm 68º – 9pm 63º – 12am 59º – 3am 56º – 6am 53º

The soggy pattern will continue for the remainder of our afternoon and evening as a stationary front stays parked across southern Kentucky. Several disturbances will ride through the Commonwealth bringing multiple waves of rainfall (with a few embedded thunderstorms) across the area. Extensive cloud cover and rain will keep temperatures comfortable with highs in the lower-middle 70’s.

If you have any plans this evening, be sure keep those umbrellas handy. More rainfall will be anticipated through tonight as the rain train keeps on rolling. Of course overcast skies will prevail through the overnight period as temperatures cool off into the lower 50’s.

Sat – Mostly Cloudy; Sct’d Showers – High 64º / Sat Night – Mostly Cloudy; Rain Likely – Low 54º

By early Saturday morning, the stationary front will slowly begin to work southward. There seems to be some model discrepancies on just how far south this boundary actually moves. This will directly impact our rainfall for the first part of the weekend. It seems that the stationary front will find a spot right along the KY/TN border as waves of rain traverse through.

In return, we’ll keep scattered rain chances in the forecast throughout the day with a slightly better shot Saturday afternoon and evening. Regardless, things are shaping up to be wet one and could be a great time to catch up on some of those inside chores. Afternoon highs will be cool as temperatures struggle to reach the mid 60’s with cool overnight lows in the mid 50’s.

Sun – Mostly Cloudy; Sct’d Showers  – High 76º / Sun Night – Mostly Cloudy; Sct’d Showers – Low 63º

A weak low pressure will develop across the Deep South before riding northward early Sunday morning. This system and its associated warm front will rise through the Volunteer State and eventually into southern Kentucky by Sunday afternoon. Scattered to numerous showers will break out along with this feature as southerly winds pump in plenty of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.

Despite the cloud cover and numerous showers, the warm front will allow temperatures to warm into the mid 70’s Sunday afternoon. Due the wet conditions over the past few days…and the upcoming rain chances for Monday and Tuesday, some flooding concerns will arise through early next week. The evening period for Sunday will feature more of the same as the rain keeps on falling. Overnight lows will be mild as temperatures bottom out in the lower 70’s.
