Good morning, temperatures are currently in the lower 50s across southern Kentucky and another beautiful day is on its way. At the upper levels of the atmosphere, we remain on the edge a longwave trough. Northwesterly flow in the upper-levels combined with surface winds out of the north will result in another fall-like day as our high temperatures will be in the upper 70s.
An area of surface high pressure to our northeast will help keep skies mostly clear today. Another chilly night is expected with our lows falling into the lower 50s.
Fri – Sunny; Gorgeous – High 81º / Fri Night – Mostly Clear; Cool – Low 60º
Another beautiful day is expected tomorrow, a perfect way to end the work week.
Mid-level ridging will allow temperatures to reach a few degrees higher tomorrow. We may make a run at hitting a high of 80º since last Thursday. Temperatures will dip down to 60º tonight under clear skies, great news for anyone heading out to the Big-To-Do Fest tonight.
Sat – Mostly Sunny – High 84º / Fri Night – Mostly Cloudy: Cool – Low 66º
An upper-level low will attempt to push the strong ridge responsible for our quiet weather east later this weekend. Ahead of this upper-level trough, surface winds will turn to the south and usher in slightly warmer temperatures. Skies will be mostly cloudy on Saturday with highs in the lower to middle 80s.
An area of showers and thunderstorms is expected to develop across Missouri and Kansas Saturday evening and slowly move east. While we will stay dry, we will see an increase in cloud cover overnight as the precipitation edges closer. Mostly cloudy skies will keep temperatures wild with lows only falling into the middle 60s.
Precipitation chances will increase on Sunday, so be sure to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather during the first half of the weekend. For real-time weather updates be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on Twitter.
