Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Radar:

Today 8/16 – Mostly Cloudy / Rain Chances Afternoon– High 88° // Tonight – Scattered Showers– Low 70°

6am 63º – 9am 75º – 12pm 83º – 3pm 88º – 6pm 85º

Weekend weather is looking to get off on a decent start today everyone. Looks like it will be warm with increasing humidity levels throughout the day with the aid of the southerly wind component kicking in. Depending on cloud cover, highs are expected to be in the upper 80s with mostly cloudy skies.

Looks like an area of rain could work its way into the area as that low pressure area to our northwest continues eastward. Here’s our surface map for 1pm today:

As stated, you can see the weather associated with the approaching shortwave to our northwest, this may bring the isolated shower later today. Keep an eye on the radar if you have outdoor plans. Otherwise, expect lows around 70 overnight and generally calm weather.

Sunday 8/17 – Scattered Showers & T’Storms – High 90° // Sunday Night – Scattered Showers & T’Storms – Low 74°

Sunday will be our best chance for rain in the immediate future with this next system moving across the Ohio Valley throughout the day. For the most part, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected with highs around 90 degrees. Storms are not expected to be severe in nature, but not impossible of course. Keep an eye on the weather Sunday.

Lingering showers or storms are possible Sunday evening with overnight with lows in the mid and low 70s.

Monday 8/18 – Isolated Showers & T’Storms – High 89° // Monday Night – Isolated Showers – Low 71°

The start to the work week will begin with this system trying to make its way out of the region and draping some lingering areas of precipitation with it. Winds will switch more westerly over time and help to move everything out of the area. Expect highs in the upper 80s and some precipitation here and there.

Here’s a 700mb heights and winds map showing the shortwave trough in the area at 4pm, moving eastward and out of the area:

Lows are expected to be in the low 70s overnight Monday with precipitation decreasing in coverage and skies clearing. Making for an improved weather scenario for Tuesday, for a bit. Model guidance is hinting that precipitation chances come back Tuesday night though.

Overall, not too shabby of an outlook!
