Today will be a pretty dreary day across the Bowling Green area. Showers and thunderstorms will linger throughout most of the day as a cold front will move into the region from the east. A few of the storms could be strong to severe with damaging winds and heavy rain being the main concern. Expect a high around 85°.

Heavy rain is a concern, especially in the morning hours as we have a large complex of showers and heavy thunderstorms moving over the region. A few places sporadically throughout Bowling Green is beginning to flood once again, especially around Western Kentucky University. Tonight, showers should decrease with a low around 67°. If you come to a flooded roadway, turn around, don’t drown.

Tuesday 8/12 – Partly Cloudy – High 82° / Tue Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 59°

On Tuesday we’ll dry out across the region. The cold front will have moved well to the east of the region, leaving our area cooler and drier. Tuesday will be rather enjoyable, especially compared to today. You can expect a high around 82° under partly cloudy skies. Yep the rain is gone and #DroughtBeGone. Do a happy dance.

High pressure will continue to work into the region. This will decrease moisture values in Bowling Green. This will lead to less cloud cover in the overnight hours. Thus, you can expect partly cloudy skies with a chilly low of 59°.

Wednesday 8/13 – Mostly Sunny – High 81° / Wed Night – Clear – Low 57°

Even drier conditions are in store for Wednesday as the nation’s midsection is dominated by a large high pressure system. Wednesday will probably be the pick day of the week to do any outdoor activities across the region. Clear skies will be the rule for the day with highs in the low 80s. Yes sir, if you take your dog for a walk, he’ll be mighty happy.

On Wednesday night we’ll see our clear skies continue across the region. Lows will be in the mid to upper 50s. If you’re a night owl, it sounds like a good night to stargaze.
