Friday Morning Update

Real-time Radar:

Today 7/18– Cloudy/Slight Chance of Rain – High 79° / Tonight – Cloudy/Chance of Rain – Low 64°

6am 63º – 9am 69º – 12pm 75º – 3pm 79º – 6pm 74º

Looks like we’ll be ending the work week with a slight chance of rain as an area of low pressure to our southwest begins to move into the lower Mississippi Valley and northeast into our region. The bulk of the rain should remain to our south but skies will remain cloudy all day and the threat for light rain will remain throughout out the day and peak into the evening hours. Expect highs in the upper 70s.

Here’s a look at our surface map for 1pm today:

Precipitation will continue to linger into the evening and overnight hours as well as the system continues to move northeast but to our south. No severe weather is expected. Lows will fall into the low 60s.

Saturday 7/19– Cloudy/Chance of Rain – High 82° / Saturday Night – Cloudy/Chance of Rain – Low 67°

Saturday will be another cloudy, rainy day as this slow moving shortwave continues to slowly push east. Temperatures will be up a tick as winds are expected to shift from the south. Expect a chance of rain all throughout the 24 hour period on Saturday. Bring an umbrella to work.

The outlook for Saturday night is the same story, rain. Lows in the upper 60s.

Sunday 7/20– Mostly Cloudy/Slight Chance of Rain – High 84° / Sunday Night – Cloudy/Chance of Rain – Low 70°

Weather conditions may improve a bit for Sunday as the shortwave trough bringing precipitation to our area across the weekend begins to become disorganized, due in part by the fact it is disconnected from the jet stream which is positioned by the Canadian border at this point. However, lingering clouds and rain are expected for now as the low remains in the area, as disorganized as it may be. Check out QPF for the U.S. for Sunday at 7pm:

Most of the rain should be to our southeast throughout the day as seen above. Hopefully the skies begin to clear up and permit us to get outside and dry out a bit, we all like to get outside on the weekends right? The good news is there is no severe weather expected throughout the next few days and the rainfall will be beneficial to the area.

Probably the rainiest forecast I’ve had to give out to ya’ll. Wish I had better news but let’s make the best of it; keep an umbrella on hand and let the grass grow!
