Typhoon Rammasun had just made landfall a few days ago in the north Philippines and had resultantly weakened and become disorganized. However, once it was back out over the South China Sea it rapidly intensified and made landfall last night near Hainan, China.
Good news (for now) is Typhoon #Rammasun has really come apart in past few hours. Additional weakening. pic.twitter.com/a6NAvsNEqo

Forecast seemed to be very accurate:
Landfall intensity of Typhoon #Rammasun likely 125-knots, may be exceeded when it reaches Hainan, China Friday pic.twitter.com/zEUnVEIazF

Intensification:
Typhoon #Rammasun has evolved a symmetric central dense overcast (CDO) w/very cold cloudtops. No eye at moment. pic.twitter.com/bQb1KzbVvD

Typhoon #Rammasun now equivof a Category 4 …18Z intensity at 120-knots — still strengthening in favorable enviropic.twitter.com/TWi9rD5ix9

Just before landfall:
125-knots is low in my opinion for Typhoon #Rammasun
Based on satellite, it's a 140-knot Super Typhoon. pic.twitter.com/eUKA9ZiEzz
