Tuesday Afternoon Update

Real Time Regional Radar:

This Afternoon – Partly Cloudy – High 79° / Tonight – Mostly Clear – Low 55°

 3pm 78º – 6pm 74º – 9pm 67º – 12am 62º – 3am 58º – 6am 55º

The cold front that brought us 1.03″ of rain at the Bowling Green Airport yesterday has moved off to the east. Behind the cold front, we are seeing clear skies with just a few clouds in the area.

If you haven’t already figured it out, it also feels amazing outside. Temperatures are struggling to reach 80 degrees today with dew points in the 50s. It’s July right?

Tonight will be a chilly one with lows in the middle 50s and clear skies.

7/16 Wednesday – Sunny & Beautiful – High 79° / Wed Night – Clear – Low 56°

A repeat forecast is on tap for tomorrow. A potent upper level trough will be centered over the eastern United States keeping temperatures well below normal. Highs will be in the upper 70s again with lows in the 50s. Bottom line: Get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful autumn…I mean summer weather.

7/17  Thursday – A Few Clouds – High 82° / Thur Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 61°

Surface high pressure will center itself just to our north on Thursday as this upper level trough begins to head east. This high pressure will keep things clear with temperatures just a few degrees warmer. Look for highs in the lower 80s which is still cool for mid-July.

By Thursday evening winds will turn to the south ahead of a disturbance to our southwest. Surface low pressure will move up the Mississippi River valley on Friday and bring our next chance of precipitation but this low could help to move some clouds into the area by Thursday night. A stray shower is possible late Thursday night, but we will keep the forecast dry for now.

That’s all I’ve got for this afternoon. Go outside and enjoy this weather over the next few days. If you need real-time weather updates be sure to give @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX a follow on Twitter.
