The aforementioned cold front is forecast to work east across the region, as ample moisture streams over the area from the Gulf.  This should produce widespread showers & storms, especially during the afternoon and evening.

Outdoor activities will be in jeopardy.  The NAM simulated radar model paints a wet picture for us at 2pm Friday afternoon.

Widespread severe weather is not expected, however, a few storms could meet severe criteria.  Main threats will be torrential rainfall, frequent lightning and gusty winds.

Sat – Scat’d Showers & Storms – High 75˚ / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 60˚

Another wave of energy will work over the area as the cold front takes its sweet time passing to our east.  This will keep skies filled with unicorns and rainbows scattered showers & storms in the forecast to start the weekend.  Go Figure.  Keep an eye on the sky soccer & baseball parents.

If it does decide to monsoon on your parade, be smart and go inside.  Don’t be this guy:

We should finally dry out to an extent Sat night – Sun, however, an isolated storm or two can’t be ruled out.  Good news for all you party animals out there.  Total rainfall amounts through Sunday morning should range between 1-2″ in most places.  Those impacted by thunderstorms could potentially see more.
