I’m on the brink of insanity.  Hot. Cold. Hot. Cold. Hot. Cold. Hot. Cold. Snow??

Today 3/25 – Scat’d Rain & Snow Showers, BLUSTERY – High 39˚ / Tonight – Gradual Clearing – Low 19˚

6am 31˚ ~ 9am 34˚ ~ 12pm 38˚ ~ 3pm 39˚ ~ 6pm 36˚ ~ 9pm 29˚

A few slick spots will be possible this morning.  Use caution on the morning commute.  Oh yeah, dress warm, too.

Today’s weather won’t be made up of what I would call “ideal” conditions.  Northwesterly winds will howl at 15-30mph, while isolated/scattered rain and snow showers pester south central Kentucky with the passing of a cold front.  The image below shows what our current setup looks like:

Light accumulations will be possible (up to a dusting – 1/2″ maybe), but will be short lived, thanks to temperatures quickly climbing above freezing.  This will cause the transition to rain as we get into the afternoon.  Combine this with the blustery winds and you’ll want to avoid going outside.

As we get into this afternoon, cloud cover will start to break up across our proximity.  Gradual clearing will lead to plummeting temps that will bottom out in the upper teens tonight.  BRRRRRR.

Wed – Sunny & Chilly – High 47˚ / Wed Night –  Partly Cloudy – Low 32˚

High pressure will build in behind the system that will be well to our east, which will give us sunny skies to enjoy. On the other side of things, that same area of high pressure will also be responsible for limiting temperatures to the mid – upper 40s.

Thu – Partly Sunny, Iso’d Showers – High 60˚ / Thu Night – Scat’d Showers & Storms – Low 48˚

Our next disturbance will approach from our west.  This will come in the form of a cold front, which will cause southwesterly winds to amp up across our area.

We will be in the warm sector of the system, which will send temperatures rebounding to near 60˚ Thursday afternoon.  Available moisture will combine with forcing to bring isolated showers into the picture by the afternoon.

Thursday night into Friday looks to be our best shot at seeing precipitation, as the cold front progresses west to east across the region.  Widespread showers look to be a pretty good bet at this point, with a thunderstorm or two possible as well.  Nothing severe is expected.

That’s all for now.  Stay in touch with @WarrenCountyWx & @WxOrNotBG for more frequent weather information.
