Warming on Up

Today 3/9 – AM Clouds, Sunny – High 53˚ / Tonight – Clear – Low 34˚

9am 35˚ ~ 12pm 45˚ ~ 3pm 53˚  ~ 6pm 48˚ ~ 9pm 42˚

As expected, a few light rain showers were in the area yesterday evening… most of which amounted to a whole lot of nothing. An associated cold front passed through as well which means slightly cooler temperatures today. Highs will only be in the low to mid 50s as apposed to near 60˚ temps we saw yesterday.

Overall, it should be a gorgeous day though. Clouds will try to linger this morning but should generally clear out by noon leaving us with sunny skies for the remainder of the day. The sunny skies brought to you today courtesy of High Pressure.

Overnight, more of the same… clear skies, cool temperatures in the mid 30s, nothing more to see here.

Mon –  Sunny – High 65˚ / Mon Night – Clear – Low 46˚

One Word: Warmth!

Even Chuck Norris approves… thus you must approve as well or face consequences.

As I mentioned yesterday, by Monday we’ll be set up on the return flow of side of the high pressure system. As a result, winds will pick up out of the southwest ushering in much warmer air. Highs should be in the low to mid 60s under mostly sunny skies. Winds might be a bit breezy, blowing from the southwest at 10-15 mph.

Monday night, skies remain clear and temperatures will remain warmer overnight comparatively…. lows only falling into the mid 40s.

Tues – Mostly Sunny – High 72˚ / Tues Night – Scat’d Showers/Storms – Low 48˚

Oh yeah! You read that right… low 70s for highs on Tuesday. I’m thinking this may be a good day for a little fishing. We’ll be positioned just ahead of a wave of low pressure which will pump in warm air just ahead of it. Any rain/storms should hold off until overnight thus leaving skies mostly sunny throughout the day.

By evening, clouds will begin to roll in from the west ahead of the approaching storm system. Current thinking is that showers and maybe a few storms will roll in after dark into the overnight hours. Nothing severe is expected and in general it should just be showers with a few rumbles of thunder possibly embedded within.

You can see the one model’s interpretation below of the scat’d showers/storms:

The associated cold front will pass through during the morning hours Wednesday which will dry things out but it will also send temperatures tumbling. Looks like temperatures around mid-week will be cooler again as a result (doesn’t look crazy cold though… breathe sigh of relief).

That’s all I have for you. Get out and make the best of these nice warm days; hopefully its a sign of things to come. Remember you can always catch the latest on real-time weather info @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWx on twitter. Enjoy the rest of your weekend all and thanks for reading.
