How to properly “deal with” slick conditions.

Today 2/6 – Partly Cloudy, Flurries – High 26˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 11˚

6am 18˚ ~ 9am 22˚ ~ 12pm 24˚ ~ 3pm 26˚ ~ 6pm 24˚ ~ 9pm 16˚

Slick spots will be inevitable this morning.  This should be no surprise after watching last night’s winter weather traffic fiasco unfold.  Please use caution on the early commute.

High pressure will build in from the west today, however, available moisture should keep a fair amount of clouds in the sky, along with a few flurries.  Light, northerly winds of 5-10mph will coincide with chilly temperatures in the upper 20s – lower 30s today.  Long story short, another dreary one.  Here’s a look at how the current surface conditions are shaping up:

Fri – Partly Cloudy – High 28˚ / Fri Night – Iso’d Snow Showers – Low 22˚

Area of high pressure will track off to our east as we progress throughout our Friday, which may give us a couple brief moments of sunshine.  Don’t be fooled, folks, as temperatures will remain limited to the upper 20s.

Late Friday night, a weak disturbance looks to track in from our west, bringing with it the potential for isolated, light snow showers.  As of this moment, accumulations look to be minor, if any at all.  Those located to the north of Bowling Green will have the best chance at seeing this come to fruition.

Sat – Scat’d Rain & Snow Showers – High 38˚ / Sat Night – Iso’d Snow Showers – Low 23˚

Leftover moisture will combine with enough forcing to keep a scattered snow in the forecast early Saturday.  Again, little to nothing is expected regarding accumulations, as temperatures look to quickly catapult above freezing.  The GFS precip model below is valid for 6am Saturday, and paints a light, wintry precip across our proximity:

Throughout Sat night, we’ll keep a few on and off snow showers in the outlook, as moisture continues to overstay its welcome.
