You guessed it…Cold

Today 1/29 – Sunny & Cold, Again – High 28˚ / Tonight – Clear & Cold – Low 13˚

6am 2˚ ~ 9am 13˚ ~ 12pm 22˚ ~ 3pm 28˚ ~ 6pm 23˚ ~ 9pm 20˚

Arctic high pressure will be in complete control across the region, making for another sunny, chilly day across south central Kentucky…surprise, surprise.

This feature will push to our east, which will shift winds from out of the south, allowing for a slight warmup.  Our pattern will remain cold and stagnant tonight as well, as the area of high pressure continues to propagate to our east.

Thu – Partly Sunny – High 42˚ / Thu Night – Iso’d Snow Showers – Low 28˚

We should start out partly to mostly sunny Thursday morning, with clouds cover starting to increase through the afternoon and evening, ahead of our next weather maker.  Return flow will continue to increase temperature values, which will eventually top out in the lower 40s during the afternoon.

A weak cold front looks to track southeast across our proximity Thu night, which will coincide with bleak moisture to provide isolated, light snow showers.  Little to no accumulation is expected.  This should be of no concern, just some flying flurries.

Fri – Scat’d Rain Showers – High 45˚ / Fri Night – Scat’d Rrain Showers – Low 36˚

Moisture will continue to stream over us from the southwest, increasing precipitation coverage as the day progresses.  A few slick spots can’t be ruled out for the the early commute.

As temperature profiles find their way above freezing by mid morning, we should see isolated to scattered rain showers evolve.  This GFS models likes the idea of liquid precip falling by 12pm Fri afternoon:

GFS Precip Model Valid 12pm Fri
GFS Precip Model Valid 12pm Fri

We’ll continue to see more of the wet stuff Friday night into Saturday, as we continue to receive a streaky stream of Gulf moisture.

That’s all I’ve got.  Be sure to stay connected to @WarrenCountyWx & @Wx_Or_Not for more frequent updates.  Have a great Hump Day, and stay warm.  Thanks for reading.
