Surface low pressure system will eject from the central Plains today, and end up northeast of the Great Lakes. This weather maker’s associated cold front will track west to east across our region as a result. This will introduce scattered showers and perhaps a stray storm or two to the forecast today, with widespread rain showers taking over by this evening.

High pressure will build over the area following the passing of the cold front, supplementing partly to mostly sunny skies. Northwesterly winds will take over in response, which will limit afternoon highs to the lower 50s. Thursday night, lows are forecast to flirt with the freezing threshold of 32 degrees.
