The early week struggle continues…

This Afternoon – Partly Sunny – High 67 / Tonight – Increasing Clouds – Low 49

4pm 63 ~ 7pm 57 ~ 10pm 53 ~ 1am 51 ~ 4am 50

Partly sunny skies will remain the story through this afternoon and evening, before cloud cover increases overnight, ahead of our next disturbance.

Wed – Scat’d Showers – High 70 / Wed Night – Showers & Storms Likely – Low 40

7am 52 ~ 10am 60 ~ 1pm 67 ~ 4pm 64 ~ 7pm 60

A mid-latitude cyclone is still scheduled to eject northeast from the central Plains, across the Great Lakes region. In response to this, the system’s associated cold front will track west to east across our region. This will result in scattered showers and perhaps a stray storm or two during the afternoon, with widespread rain showers taking over by Wednesday evening night.

Severe weather is NOT expected, however, wind gusts of 20-30mph will be possible. Rainfall amounts could range up to .50-1″. The image provided displays simulated radar activity for 6pm Wednesday evening:

Thu – Mostly Sunny – High 52 / Thu Night – Clear – Low 31

High pressure will build in behind the cold front, supplementing partly to mostly sunny skies, along with a cool down.  Northwesterly winds will filter in a colder airmass, which will limit afternoon highs to the lower 50s.  Overnight, lows are forecast to flirt with the freezing threshold of 32 degrees.
Conditions are forecast to stay calm and quiet through the start of the weekend, as high pressure remains in complete control of our pattern.  Partly to most sunny skies will accompany a slight warm up Friday and Saturday, as highs return to around 60 degrees.
That’s all I’ve got for today, friends.  I’ll be back bright and early tomorrow morning with another look at the atmosphere’s behavior.  Have a great rest of your Tuesday, and thanks for reading!
