Don't mind me, just gettin' on my Wednesday commute.
Don’t mind me, just gettin’ on my Wednesday commute.

Today – Partly Sunny – High 49 / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy, Iso’d Showers – Low 35

7am 41 ~ 10am 45 ~ 1pm 49 ~ 4pm 49 ~ 7pm 45

A mix of sun and clouds will be accompanied by very cool temperatures today, thanks to northwesterly winds of 10-15mph filtering in behind a cold front that passed to our south last night. This will make for a bitter feel to the air today. Dress accordingly.

Overnight, another impulse of energy in the upper levels will create the potential for an isolated shower or two to join an increase in cloud coverage. Here is a look at the current surface conditions across the Continental US:

Thur – Gradual Clearing – High 50 / Thur Night – Clear – Low 29

7am 34 ~ 10am 41 ~ 1pm 48 ~ 4pm 50 ~ 7pm 43

Skies will gradually clear as high pressure builds over the area.  Don’t let the rays of sun deceive you, as our cool temperatures are slated to stick around.  A hard freeze could potentially occur Thursday night into Friday morning, as temperatures get the “rug pulled out” from under them, bottoming out in the upper 20s.

Fri – Sunny – High 50 / Fri Night – Clear – Low 28

More of the same, friends. Cool airmass will remain dominant across south central Kentucky, as sunny skies accompany highs near 50 degrees. Another very cold night will be on the agenda, as temps once again plummet below freezing. Frost/freeze will be possible in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

The weekend looks to be quiet and calm, with temperatures rebounding into the upper 50s. I’ll leave it at that for now. I’ll have a closer look at the weekend weather, including WKU’s homecoming, come tomorrow.

That’s going to wrap it up for this morning, folks. I’ll be back this afternoon with another update on our conditions. Have a great HuMp DaY.
