Monday Afternoon Update

** Almost Over **

This Afternoon – Increasing Clouds – High 67 / Tonight – Scat’d Showers – Low 41

4pm 67 ~ 7pm 57 ~ 10pm 52 ~ 1am 50 ~ 4am 48

Forecast is on track up to this point, folks. Approaching cold front has a cloud deck out ahead of it, which will cause an increase in cloud coverage as the remainder of our Monday progresses.

Overnight, scattered showers will impact south central Kentucky, as the cold front sags to our southeast. The current location of this boundary (2pm) can be seen below:

Tues – Partly Sunny – High 56 / Tues Night – Scat’d Showers – Low 37

7am 41 ~ 10am 52 ~ 1pm 55 ~ 4pm 56 ~ 7pm 49

We will experience a brief break from rain through our Tuesday, with a series of upper level disturbances closing in on us from the northwest.  These impulses of energy will reintroduce scattered showers to the forecast Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Wed – Partly Sunny, Iso’d Showers- High 50 / Wed Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 34

High pressure will take over behind the cold front, supplementing partly to mostly sunny skies across south central Kentucky. Before this takes place, we could see a stray shower or two linger through the early morning from the setup we will have in place.

The air accompanying our atmosphere will have quite a bite to it through the last half of the work week, as temperatures are suppressed to the upper 40s – lower 50s under partly to mostly sunny skies.  Overnight lows will tumble to near 30 degrees.  The potential for frost and a hard freeze will be very much alive Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night.  Plant lovers beware.

That will be all for now, gang.  I’ll be back bright and early tomorrow with another update on our conditions.  Have a great rest of your Monday
