Friends, if you’ve followed the weather at all the past few days, it should be no secret that widespread precipitation is on the agenda.  Heavy rain is forecast to pester south central Kentucky and surrounding areas through the remainder of our Friday, and last into the start of our Saturday.  Long story short, if you’re attending any of the local high school football games tonight, have the rain gear on.  Ponchos, rain jackets, umbrellas…”THE WHOLE 9 YARDS.”

It will be important to stay up to date with any thunderstorms that may be near your area.  If lightning is present tonight, please be responsible and DO NOT remain outdoors.  Embedded thunderstorms are forecast to join the heavy rain showers, so lightning will be a very real possibility, and the greatest threat regarding safety.  We even have a marginal threat of severe weather coming to fruition.  You can follow the activity with the radar below:

As far as temperatures are concerned, values will be right around 70 degrees for the majority of kickoffs across the region, with readings by 10 pm in the mid – upper 60s.  Everyone have a safe night, and may the best teams win!
