Good morning, Kentucky, and happy Tuesday! The overnight showers look to stick around as soggy conditions continue over the next few days. I’ve got all the details in the post below!
Isolated Showers Today
As you’re headed out the door this morning, isolated showers will be over the WABBLES area, so I’d grab your rain jacket. The majority of the rain, other than the possibility of a light shower later this evening, looks to move out after lunch time.
The good news is that temperatures will remain in the warm lower-60s, which makes the rain a little more tolerable (I think). A few rumbles of thunder could be embedded in those showers, and sustained winds will remain around 10-15 mph throughout the day.
Chance of Showers Tomorrow
Another round of showers is possible tomorrow. Chances will start around mid-morning and could continue until mid-afternoon. Just like today, tomorrow evening looks dry.
Wind conditions will be much calmer (around 5 mph) and our high temperature should reach into the low-60s once again. The overnight hours could bring more showers that could lead into Thursday.
Strongest Showers on Thursday
The strongest showers of the week will be on Thursday. Overnight rain on Wednesday should carry into Thursday and it doesn’t look like there will be much of a break from it for most of the day. Thanks to southwest winds, our high temperature will reach into the upper-60s while pulling in plenty of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.
Embedded pockets of heavier showers within the swath of rain stretched across the state can be expected to have a few rumbles of thunder and higher accumulations. As of right now, approximately 1″ of rain is possible on Thursday.
Not only will Thursday be rainy, it will also be very windy. Sustained southwest winds look to stay around 10 mph throughout the day with frequent gusts near 20 mph.
That concludes today’s post! Have a great Tuesday and remember to follow @wxornotBG on Twitter to stay updated on this week’s rain. Stay dry!
