Soggy but Spring-like Start to the Week

It’s been a gorgeous weekend around WABBLES as sunshine returned to the region after a dreary start on Friday. Yesterday, in particular was a bit breezy but otherwise magnificent capper to the weekend. We’ll keep the mild feel around WABBLES, but rain showers are back in the forecast: a soggy but Spring-like start to the week.

Dry Start but Showers Encroach

Good news is that we’ll stay dry for that Monday morning trek to work or school, and we’ll still be dealing with relatively mild conditions as we get up in the morning.

Southerly and southwesterly breezes will still be with us, however, and those gusts upwards of 30 MPH are going to keep the warmth and moisture train rolling into the afternoon. Speaking of moisture…it’s coming.

We still won’t have a ton of atmospheric moisture in the area by the time the models predict precipitation to be falling (early afternoon), so it looks like first sprinkles may hold off until late into the afternoon or evening as we get the atmosphere juicy enough (well, relatively) to support rain. In any case, the big story will be the mild temps!

The mild temperatures of the weekend continue despite today’s increasing cloud cover. We’ll end up close to 65° before the rain arrives later on today. Don’t expect those temperatures to drop a whole lot overnight. We’ll end up right around 55° as the showers continue overnight.

Soggy Start on Tuesday

Today is just the first of several days featuring rainmaking disturbances moving through the region.

Tonight’s rain will hang around into the morning hours tomorrow as the frontal boundary moves through the area.

It will be a soggy commute in the morning, but we should begin to dry out slowly as we head toward the midday hour. The other bit of good news is that while we’ll drop a couple degrees, we’ll still stay mild as highs linger around 60°. The only downside is that those breezes will linger with us again during the afternoon.

We could see a couple sprinkles overnight, but we should stay dry, dipping back to about 48° as we finally see those winds subside.

Wet Weather Resumes Wednesday

As we finally reach the midweek, we bring the rainfall back as another disturbance heads our way for the afternoon hours.

This doesn’t quite have as much of a kick as tonight’s will, so while we’ll get some more rain out of it, it won’t be a whole lot. Won’t affect temperatures that much either, as we still end up around 65° this afternoon. Rain eventually moves away as we head into the evening and overnight but clouds stay with us…we’ll settle back to near 45° or so.

Soggies Stay with Us

A quick glance into the medium range shows more disturbances headed our way, each with their own chance at bringing us a little bit more rain. The only exception may be Thursday, and even then we can’t rule out a stray shower.

We’re not talking a whole lot of rain, though, because these aren’t exactly powerhouse storm systems. Another thing working in our favor from a flooding standpoint is the fact that we’ll have time to dry out in between each of these systems.

Temperatures stay mild, with afternoon highs flirting around 65° for the remainder of the week before a slight weekend cooldown may have us down closer to 55-60°.
