Good morning south-central Kentucky, your umbrellas will get a short rest as it will be cloudy but dry today with more rain tomorrow. Meanwhile, temperatures remain chilly, but above average for mid-winter.
Cloudy But Dry Today
We will get some much needed dry time during the daylight hours today as we will be squarely between two low pressure systems. Highs today will only reach the mid 40’s under some rather uninspiring grey skies. Weather models are spinning rumors that a few peaks of sunshine are possible late this afternoon, but after days of cloudy skies, I’m having trouble believing them.
Closed Low Brings More Rain Tomorrow
Prepare for another wet, windy, and chilly day tomorrow as a closed low passes through our region. Temperatures will get locked in the mid 40’s as widespread showers from morning through evening drop an inch or more of soaking rain.
All this rain will continue the flooding problems along some of our region’s rivers and streams and dampen any of your Friday evening plans. Low temperatures for Saturday morning look to remain slightly above freezing dismissing any winter weather worries.
Nice Weekend on the Horizon
Skies will finally clear off Saturday leaving us sunny and dry with highs in the mid 50’s on Saturday and then low 60’s on Sunday. Make the most of this welcome relief from the dreary winter blues as more rain is likely for early next week.
That’s all I have for today. Endure the sogginess and follow @wxornotbg for the latest updates.
