Happy morning, everyone! Welcome back to wxornotBG. Today’s forecast will come as no surprise to you if you’ve been keeping up with our page. Here’s one word to sum it up…
Outlook for Today
Today, skies will be mostly sunny and winds will remain calm, making for a comfortable and much-needed breeze. It’ll be another hot, dry day, with temperatures reaching the mid-80’s and dew points in the lower 50’s.
Take the time to do something outdoors! But if you do, don’t forget sunblock. The UV index will be rather high today.
Prepare While You Can
Now that the tropics are lacking any notable activity, it’s the perfect time to make a plan for natural disasters. As shown below, the National Hurricane Center predicts that there could be up to six major hurricanes in the Atlantic this season.
Below is a map of historical hurricane tracks that have passed through Kentucky. As you can see, a “hurricane” has never maintained its label once it has reached us, but that does not dismiss a discussion for severe weather. These storms are still great in magnitude and directly impact our weather patterns.
