Good morning, South-Central Kentucky! Glad you could make it this morning. Looking back at November, we found we were 5° colder than average! Now, we’re looking at pleasant temperatures to start December.
Clear Skies, Warm Temps
It was a very beautiful day around WABBLES yesterday with those clear skies. We look to have that again today as a high pressure continues to dominate much of the eastern United States.
In addition, with the sun being out our temperatures will have a chance to warm up as well. Highs today will land close to 60° this afternoon with the help from some light, southerly winds. As the sun goes down, expect lows to fall into the mid 40’s overnight.
Chance for Showers Friday
That dominant high pressure gradually moves out as we head into Friday. As a result, it will be replaced by a low pressure from the Rockies. This will bring a chance for showers on Friday, but mainly in the afternoon. However, we could also see a round of showers move through before sunrise.
With the onset of clouds, we won’t get as warm during the day. High temperatures look to be in the low 50’s, which is still near average for early December. Friday night will get chilly, though, with lows in the mid 30’s.
Temperatures on the Rise
The rain quickly moves out of our region by Friday evening allowing the sun to return for Saturday. Highs start off in the low 50’s on Saturday before gradually warming into the new week. Highs could potentially reach the mid 60’s by Monday.
These very pleasant temperatures to start December will quickly be replaced by a cold shot early next week, thanks to a cold front forecasted to move through. We are still a ways out, so we will keep watching to see what this next system does.
That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Enjoy the sunshine!
