Beautiful Weekend Ahead

Good morning, folks!! Happy Saturday and happy homecoming Hilltoppers!! We have pleasant conditions in front of us with a beautiful weekend on tap!!

Let’s just take a moment to admire the beautiful sunset we experienced last night. I don’t think we can ask for a better way to kick off the weekend!

Waking up and heading out the door to an early tailgate, you might need a sweater or a light jacket to start off the morning. The cool temperatures will not last long as temperatures rebound quickly during the late morning hours. Temperatures across the WABBLES region will top out in the middle 70s.

With an area of high pressure over the Ohio River Valley, skies will remain mostly clear during the morning hours, but clouds will move into the area as Tropical Storm Nester moves onto land over the southeast. Clouds really begin to take over heading into the evening and overnight hours. Temperatures back off into the middle 50s during the overnight hours.

Waking up Sunday morning and heading out the door to Sunday morning church or breakfast, you might need a light sweater as temperatures will be in the middle 50s under mostly clear skies. Temperatures, once again quickly rebound during the late morning and early afternoon hours. Temperatures rise up into the middle 70s, giving the area another beautiful day!

The 2019-20 U.S. Winter Outlook | December through February

I know we are still in the middle of October, but its never too early to start thinking about Winter. National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center issued its first winter weather outlook for this upcoming winter. Modest probabilities for above-average temperatures span across much of the United States including the Ohio River Valley.

This 2019-20 Winter Outlook map for temperature shows warmer-than-average temperatures are likely for much of the U.S. this winter.

Wetter-than-average conditions are most likely in Alaska and Hawaii this winter, along with portions of the Northern Plains, Upper Mississippi Valley, the Great Lakes and parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Southcentral Kentucky falls into the category of equal chances for below-, near-, or above-average precipitation.This 2019-20 Winter Outlook map for precipitation shows wetter-than-average weather is most likely across the northern tier of the U.S. this coming winter.
