Slight Severe Threat Today Offers Relief from Spring Heat

Say goodbye to the 80’s for a few days as today’s slight severe threat will offer relief from the spring heat. Our greatest chances for storms will be this evening followed by several days with rain chances and more springlike temperatures.

Slight Severe Threat This Evening

Grab that rain coat or umbrella as a midday shower is a distinct possibility before this evening’s severe storm threat. Meanwhile, our spring heat wave is starting to break since high temperatures will reach the upper 70’s tempered by a gusty breeze.

The “fun” looks to start late this afternoon as we will be watching the radar closely for the formation of some isolated storms off to our west. Over the course of the evening, these storms could reform into a line bringing a potential damaging wind and large hail threat.

With this in mind, the Storm Prediction Center has us in a slight (2/5) chance for severe storms. Much uncertainty still exist about this severe threat, so stay tuned for further updates.

Cold Front Arrives Tomorrow Morning

Retrieve the jackets as a cold front will drop us back to the more springlike upper 60’s for highs tomorrow under cloudy, but mainly dry skies. A+ day in my book.

Ready for a return to more springlike temperatures?

Unsettled Weekend

Another low pressure system looks to pass through our region this weekend bringing more chances for wet weather.

Saturday night into Sunday morning look to have the greatest chances of heavy rain with lesser chances for the rest of the weekend while highs hang around 70 each day. Dry, cool conditions look to greet us for the start of next week.
