Good morning, Kentucky! Hope you all had a great and relaxing weekend. This week will consist of a significant amount of rain and seasonable temperatures.
Currently…
Temperatures are right around 30° with a mostly cloudy sky. Cold, northwestern winds may make the morning commute pretty chilly, but the roads are dry.
President’s Day is Looking Cold
We’re starting off the week on the cooler side with temperatures increasing into the low-40s today. The dry winds will continue to come from the north and will calm down by midday. There may be some breaks in the clouds from time to time, but cloudy for the most part.
The temperatures are expected to decrease into the low-30s tonight and the winds will cause a slight wind chill. Make sure to bring a heavier coat while out and about tonight.
Here Comes the Rain (doo doo doo doo)
The wind is going to start taking a shift as the temperatures begin to rise into the mid-40s. Rain is expected to start right around noon and will stay consistent throughout the day. The highest temperature will hit the mid-40s and then drop into the high-30s. Have that rain coat handy.
Beware of slick road conditions as the temperatures drop. Anywhere from an inch to two inches is possible.
Wet and Warm on Wednesday
Looks like the rain will continue on Wednesday.
Strong southern winds will draw that moisture in throughout the day as a cold front approaches the area. Wind gusts as high as 20 mph at lunchtime. The temperature will increase into the high-50s, possibly 60°. As the sun goes down, the temperature will drop into the high-30s. Rain will continue throughout the night, as well.
Thursday-Saturday… you guessed it, more rain!
Even more rain starting on Thursday. The amount of rain we are forecasted for is concerning for our area, considering the amount of rain we have already received. If any of you all live near a body of water, please watch and prepare for the rising levels this week.
