Good morning, Kentucky! I trust that everyone had a great weekend and got a productive start to the work week. You can expect dry conditions today with thunderstorm chances tomorrow as well as the next several days.

We currently have a high pressure system sitting over Kentucky, which will bring us dry conditions today. The high will reach nearly 90° with dew points in the high-60s, so get ready for some muggy air. Surface winds won’t help our cause by being pretty minimal out of the southwest. Our skies will be partly cloudy but will increase as we head into the overnight hours. As for rain, we look to stay dry today but our chances increase as we progress into Wednesday. Expect the low to rest in the upper-60s.

Wednesday

A low pressure system has moved into our area and is bringing us thunderstorm chances. The high for today will reach the high-80s and may even reach into the low-90s. Dew points will remain high as well as they top out in the upper-60s. Southwest winds will be slightly stronger than yesterday but not by much. We will have mostly cloudy today as our precipitation chances increase throughout the day. Although we have a chance of a thunderstorm during the morning as well, our greatest chance will be during the afternoon hours. The low will dip to the high-60s.

Thursday

Thursday will be fairly similar to Wednesday due to the muggy air and persistent thunderstorm possibilities. The high will reach the upper-80s with dew points in the low-70s (yuck). As of right now, it looks like we will have a constant chance of thunderstorms during the entire day. There is a possibility that some of those storms could be strong, which would include heavy rain and some strong wind gusts. The low will only dip down to the low-70s.

Thunderstorm chances will last into Thursday and even into your Friday as well. (WPC)
