Hey folks! Hope the week has started off well, and that we are looking at a strong middle and end of the week as well. After a couple of days of terrible weather, much warmer temps are on the way!
Deserved Warm up Today
After the past two days, but especially yesterday, we deserve to warm up. Yesterday’s weather was horrible. Snow showers, breezy, cloudy, and really cold.
The low pressure system that was influencing us is moving off to the northeast, leaving our winds to shift to the west and southwest. This will lead to a warm up!
In addition to this, plentiful sunshine is expected across the region today. These two things will help our highs jump into the mid 60s. There may be a light breeze, but I think its just gonna be a nice day out there.
I’m just excited for a warm and fully sunny day. I don’t feel like we have seen many of those this Spring.
Spring Says a Passing Hello on Wednesday
A low pressure system is forecast to begin developing on the lee side of the Rocky mountains this afternoon and tonight. Ahead of this, a warm front will slip to our north tonight and early Wednesday.
The associated low pressure system will quickly approach the region Wednesday as well, bringing a cold front, clouds and breezy conditions.
We’re looking at gusty winds again, with southwesterly flow at 15-20 mph, gusting upwards of 30 mph on Wednesday afternoon. Because of cloud cover during the afternoon, the southwesterly flow won’t be able to warm us up as much as it usually does.
Expect highs in the upper 60s ahead of the front. We may be able to squeeze some rain out of the cold front as it passes, but I wouldn’t expect too much in the way of wet weather. Clouds should clear as we approach sunset and as the front passes.
Temperatures crash again behind the front, falling into the upper 30s by Thursday morning.
Cold Weather Smacks us Again
Thursday doesn’t look as brutal as yesterday did, but man oh man it looks bad too.
Clouds look to develop again during the afternoon hours, locking us into the cold temps. Additionally, we’ll likely see isolated showers develop across the region.
We are looking at highs in the mid to upper 40s, but I lean towards mid 40s because of the afternoon cloud cover. With skies clearing again Thursday night, expect another frost/freeze threat on Friday morning.
Well, that is all I have! Be sure to follow @wxornotBG for the latest real-time weather updates!
