Winter Storm Warning Issued

Hey folks, just wanted to give an update on our impending winter storm. As of 1 pm, the counties of Edmonson and Butler are within a Winter Storm Warning, effective from 7 pm this evening until 7 am Monday morning.

A Winter Storm WARNING has been issued for our northern counties.

We are still expecting rain to begin within the next 30 minutes to 1 hours, with a changeover to snow between 6 and 9 pm expected. 3-6″ of snow is expected within the warning, with 2-5″ expected elsewhere.

The snow is expected to fall heavy enough to overcome road temperatures this evening and overnight. Travel will likely be significantly impacted for the Monday morning commute. In addition, 4″+ of wet snow can create difficulties for trees (Bradford Pears, I am looking at you). We could be looking at power issues later on if higher amounts materialize.

As always, keep it locked in here on the website, and @wxornotBG on Twitter and Facebook.
