The Headline
I think the headline should honestly be how cloudy it has been the past several days.
I can’t remember a random streak in the summer where we just had clouds, and really nothing else. It is weird, but has been quite nice. I have enjoyed the cooler temps.
This pattern looks as if it will continue, but we look to add rain chances to the forecast tonight and tomorrow. We are starting off nice and sunny right now, but clouds are streaming towards us.
A disturbance currently over Texas is forcing precip there and in Arkansas. This should move northeastward towards us, and looks to bring isolated rain chances as early as this evening.
This is forecast to continue into the overnight hours, and move out of here by late morning tomorrow. The clouds today should hold temps in the mid 80s.
This forecast is tough because of this rain chance. Some of the higher-res models develop rain into the region tonight, while others just bring cloud cover to the region. I will lean towards an isolated showers forecast, but we may see more widespread showers.
Look for highs in the lower 80s tomorrow. Tuesday looks more like summer. We should see partly cloudy skies again, and maybe an isolated storm or two as well.
Highs should be back in the mid 80s by Tuesday afternoon as well. After that, this week looks to feature the usual increase in temps ahead of a cold front, storms on Thursday and nicer by next weekend. Not too bad for the first week of living in BG for the new WKU students!
The Forecast
Today: Increasing clouds with isolated showers by this evening. Highs around 84°F. Overnight, look for cloudy skies, with isolated showers. Lows around 65°F.
Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy early, with partly sunny skies in the afternoon. Highs around 82°F. Overnight, look for partly cloudy skies, with lows around 68°F.
Tuesday: Partly sunny, with an isolated storm possible in the afternoon. Highs around 86°F. Overnight, look for partly cloudy skies, with lows around 70°F.
The Decisions
Well, I would have a rain jacket this evening and into tomorrow morning just in case. I don’t think we will have heavy/widespread rainfall, but I am anticipating isolated light showers across the region.
Temperatures the next few days are going to be ideal, especially for summer standards. I wouldn’t wear anything other than shorts and a t-shirt, honestly. Temperature wise, this forecast is very nice!
