Strong thunderstorms with heavy rain will be possible beginning this afternoon, overnight, and into Friday morning. A cold front will bring much more comfortable weather to the region over the weekend!

Today – Afternoon Showers & Storms – High 90° / Tonight – Shower and Storms – Low 73°

Showers and thunderstorms are ongoing well to the north of the region. This area of storms will gradually slide southward as well as push out outflow boundaries.

This will cause widespread overcast skies across the region. But that won’t stop temperatures from making a run at 90°.

Isolated showers and storms should start to form during the afternoon hours. These will be most likely along outflow boundaries from the storms this morning.

Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible with heavy rain, damaging wind, and vivid lightning being the main threats. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our region in a “marginal” risk of severe weather. Think of this as a level 1 out of 5 threat.

Stormy conditions will continue in the evening and overnight hours as a complex of storms may move through the region. Severe weather will once again be possible, as will local flooding issues.

The National Weather Service is closely monitoring the possibility of some local flooding as the Weather Prediction Center has placed our region in a slight risk for flash flooding.

Friday – Morning Showers and Storms – High 82° / Fri Night – Mostly Clear – Low 65°

Storms should continue into Friday morning. Again, a few isolated strong to severe storms will be possible, especially before noon. This will limit highs to only the low to mid 80s.

A cold front should move through the region throughout the day on Friday. This will lead to much nicer conditions Friday evening.

Conditions overnight on Friday should be quite nice. Expect mostly clear skies with lows dropping into the mid 60s.

Saturday – Partly Cloudy – High 80° / Sat Night – Clear – Low 60°

Saturday will be the nicest weather day we’ve had in quite some time! High pressure should lead to partly cloudy skies and temperatures around 80°!

Expect clear skies overnight as high pressure continues to settle into the region. Overnight lows should be right around 60°. Some places may even drop into the upper 50s! May be a good night to sleep with the window open!
