The Heat Continues as the Humidity Returns to South Central Kentucky

Good morning everyone! As you wake up this morning, you’ll notice there is plenty of beautiful clear blue sky and lots of sun already shining across South Central Kentucky as seen from the White Squirrel Weather Cam.

Today – Mostly sunny & hot – High 90 / Tonight – Mostly Clear – Low 69

Our forecast to get the week started isn’t too exciting, as hot and sunny conditions will continue from this weekend into much of this week. Today is going to be another seasonable, yet hot, mid July day in Kentucky. Our temperatures will approach and break that 90 degree mark once again with plenty of sunshine helping to heat us up quickly.

Our humidity will begin to build back into the area this afternoon and especially into tomorrow, so that will help to make it feel much closer to the upper 90s as you step outside this afternoon.

Tomorrow – Partly sunny, isolated pop-up shower or thunderstorm – High 90 / Overnight – Mostly Clear – Low 71

Tomorrow looks like another hot July day much like today, however that humidity is really going to get cranking just in time for tomorrow as warm gulf air heads our way. Our dew point values are going to reach the upper 60s and low 70s, paired with our temperatures in the low 90s, is going to make for an extremely uncomfortable and muggy afternoon tomorrow across South Central Kentucky.

By tomorrow afternoon, we could also see a pop-up isolated shower or two in the heat of the day. It won’t be a total wash out by any means, but just something to keep in mind if you have any outdoor plans.

Wednesday – Partly sunny, isolated pop-up shower or thunderstorm – High 93 / Overnight – Mostly Clear – Low 73

Wednesday looks to be a day very similar to tomorrow, however our temperatures are going to continue to rise as we head into a steep warming trend. As we head into these warmer and more humid conditions, remember to stay hydrated especially if you are spending extra time outdoors.

Wednesday afternoon we can’t rule out some isolated showers in the afternoon hours esepecially. Again these are going to be very isolated and will diminish by sunset.
