Today – Partly Cloudy & Iso’d PM Showers – High 75° / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy & Iso’d Showers – Low 62°
For the most part, a very nice day is in store across the region. Temperatures this morning were quite variable across the state! Low temperatures ranged from 31° in the eastern part of Kentucky, to 51° in western Kentucky. The low in our region was about 44°. We should rebound nicely though due to an advancing weak warm front/stationary front.
Convergence along this front could lead to some afternoon showers and thunderstorms. However, these should remain fairly limited. Highs will be in the mid 70s across the region. If the front ends up becoming stationary right over the region, there could be quite the contrast in highs. Lower temperatures can be expected on the north side of the boundary.
Isolated showers should diminish overnight leaving us with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Lows will be around 62°.
Tuesday – Partly Cloudy – High 85° / Tues Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 63°
Upper level ridging should keep things dry on Tuesday. However, it will bring some heat with it as well. The warm front should lift north of the region during Tuesday. This will mean a greater chance of afternoon showers and storms will be well to the north of the area. Highs will top out in the mid 80s under partly cloudy skies. Not a bad day at all.
Partly cloudy skies overnight will lead to a low in the low to mid 60s. No precipitation is expected.
Wednesday – Partly Cloudy & Iso’d PM Storms – High 85° / Wed Night – Mostly Cloudy & Iso’d Showers – Low 63°
The aforementioned front may sag a little south on Wednesday. This will bring the frontal convergence zone closer to south-central Kentucky. Expect another warm afternoon in the mid 80s, however some afternoon showers and storms may be possible. Shear will be on the increase as well as instability, so an isolated severe storm cannot be ruled out. Hail and wind will be the main threats. The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted our region in a “marginal” risk. Think of this as a level 1 out of 5.
Isolated showers may continue overnight under mostly cloudy skies. Lows will drop back to around 63°.
