Yesterday ended up doing almost exactly what I thought it would. The only difference between my forecast from Sunday and what actually happened is that the clouds waited a bit longer than I expected to move in. This allowed temps to warm longer than I anticipated.

Oh well! You win some and you lose some. This morning, we’re waking up to mostly sunny skies and fairly mild temperatures. The warm front moved through the region, and ushered in a much different air mass than was present before!

This was my excitement when I saw this forecast… h/t giphy.com

Temperatures look to be in the mid 60s as you get your day started this morning, and those will only climb as we head into the afternoon. West-southwesterly or westerly flow will dominate today, and this will help to bring some warmer temps into the region, as well!

It looks warm today, as we are firmly within a warm sector. h/t pivotalweather.com

Expect highs in the mid 80s, with partly cloudy skies developing. Overnight, things should stay pretty warm, with lows only falling into the lower 60s. Tomorrow looks…about the same!

Because a ridge axis will be moving through the region tomorrow, don’t expect much in the way of anything to occur. There may be some isolated storms tomorrow afternoon, but overall, it just looks like another warm day!

The hi-res NAM shows a nice ridge building into the region tomorrow, which should keep temperatures warm. h/t pivotalweather.com

Highs should end up in the mid 80s, with overnight lows in the mid 60s. A fairly typical late spring day looks to be in store.

Thursday is when things get interesting. The atmosphere looks to contain more moisture by Thursday afternoon, and a nice disturbance in the atmosphere looks to be moving into the region.

We look to warm up into the mid 80s again in the afternoon, and with the moisture in place, this should prime the atmosphere for some storms during the afternoon and evening hours. With a forcing mechanism looking to move in during the evening hours, we could see some nice thunderstorms.

*When I see non-severe thunderstorms are possible during a forecast period*

Nothing looks to be severe, but lightning and heavy rainfall would be the main threats. Friday looks to have storms, as well, so keep that in mind when making plans for Friday night!
