As the past few days have been, yesterday Bowling Green Weather was fairly gloomy and just “bleh”. Clouds stuck around all day, and by the evening, rain slowly began making its way into the region, and the rain is still falling in the region. BLEH. This was also proven by the fact that our high of 46°F was hit at 11:59 pm. Weird day.

Well, this forecast is kinda-sort-not-too-interesting!
The most interesting this about this forecast is that cold air is about to smack Bowling Green Weather right in its face! We haven’t seen cold like the cold we’ll see at the end of the week since last winter!

The basic set up heading into that features a couple of initial systems. Today, we are being impacted by a shortwave trough that is propagating north-northeastward through out region, and is providing ample lift and moisture to give us some nice rainfall. The heaviest rainfall axis set up just to our west, which makes sense because the low propagated right near us.
As we head into Wednesday, two things will be happening. A cold, Canadian cold front will begin to knock on our door right as another trough begins to move towards the region. The trough is forecast to move towards us before the surface front gets here, but it’ll be close. Because of that, there is a window of opportunity for some snowfall tomorrow night/early Thursday morning.
It will be tough, as once that cold front comes through, moisture will be leaving the region very quickly as a cold and dry airmass moves in. However, we could see our first small snowfall of the year nevertheless!
By Thursday afternoon and overnight, it will have become very cold. Temperatures likely won’t get out of the upper 30s on Thursday, with temps falling well into the lower 20s for lows on Thursday night. Cold air has quickly built to our north in Alaska and western Canada. We now have easy access to that going forward this month, and likely next as well. The pattern over the next few weeks looks fairly active, so be ready for a warm/cold back and forth pattern.
