Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar

Yesterday’s Weather

As with the majority of weather days, I am likely in the minority about how I feel about yesterday’s weather. I think it was awesome. I love it anytime the weather is cooler, or cloudy, or really active. The weather checked off one of those yesterday, so I was pleased!

Discussion

Well, here we are again, in a boring pattern!

I know that is shocking considering I have gone almost an entire semester without a forecast that was more difficult than, “Will this moisture starved front actually produce any precipitation?” Such is life.

The next few days really just don’t look that complicated in terms of forecasting. The overall pattern will feature a brief and low amplitude ridge today behind an exiting trough to our east. This will allow temps at the surface to rebound from where they were yesterday back to near normal values.

After this, though, a deep trough begins to dig into the eastern third of the country, and looks to bring another cool down. As has been the case recently, the cold front at the surface looks to be majorly lacking moisture, and large scale forcing as well. This should keep our precip chances at slim to none, which isn’t good. We need the rainfall.

Other than that, there really isn’t a whole lot to discuss with this forecast. Sensible weather impacts will be seen in the temperature department, mainly. It will warm into the mid 60s this afternoon, and into the lower 60s tomorrow afternoon behind the weak cold front.

Much cooler weather arrives tomorrow night and Saturday. Lows for both Friday and Saturday nights look to fall into the lower 30s, with a shot at the upper 20s on Saturday night. Either way, frost is likely.

Okay, not this cold but I just thought this gif was kinda funny hahaha. h/t giphy.com
