Forecast Discussion

Nice weather is going to remain in place across the region for the time being. The reason is a a pretty strong ridge to the west of the region. This ridge will slowly move east during the week. You know what great weather means…another gif-only forecast! Sounds pretty sweet to me!

A cold front will actually move through the region today. Fortunately, no precipitation is expected with the front as it passes. The front is associated with a trough exiting to the east. This front will help cool off temperatures some, making it a bit more seasonal.

On Tuesday and Tuesday night, mid to upper level ridging will move into the region. This will help keep conditions nice a stable. A few clouds may pass from time to time. Otherwise, mostly sunny skies will be in store on Tuesday, bringing temperatures back up to around 70°! Such nice weather this week!

On Wednesday, a mid to upper level trough will begin to move toward the region. We may see an increase in clouds from the trough. Highs will also make it back into the mid to upper 70s due to southwest flow. There may be enough lift with the trough to cause some overnight showers and thunderstorms.

Long Term

Precipitation chances will continue on Thursday, as well as on Friday night and Saturday morning. However, widespread showers and thunderstorms are not expected at this time. Temperature should remain a few degrees above normal for most of the next week.

That should wrap up this post. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WKUweather for the latest Bowling Green weather information. Have a great day!
