Pokemon GO is likely one of the hottest mobile trends that I have seen since…I don’t know. This is wild. I feel like people like this an irrational amount. I downloaded it this evening, caught two and lost the love for the game. I don’t know what the big deal is.
What I do know is that Nintendo is wildly wealthy right now. Nintendo’s stock is up 33% since last week, and has gained a large $9 billion since the App was released.
I really wish that I had found out that this was coming out, and invested in the company. Alas, I am young and poor.
Severe weather across the northern Plains
A strong trough is currently propagating through the northern Plains, forcing a strong surface low across southern Canada. This is dragging a cold front to south and east over the northern Plains. In association with this, plenty of thunderstorms have formed.
There was a strong supercell that formed earlier, and actually dropped a tornado on a small Minnesota town.

Interesting Weather in Asia
There have been a couple of interesting things occurred across China and Russia the past few days, as a hail storm impacted a Chinese Airliner and a strong waterspout was caught on camera in Russia.

Neither of these things are particularly rare, but they are cool things to note and see.
Last Week was Insane
I can’t emphasize enough how wild last week was weather wise. I wrote about it earlier this evening, but it does bear reminding. We had over 500% of our normal rainfall for the 10 day period between July 1st and July 10th.
We can’t take on much more heavy rainfall, and it isn’t looking like we’ll see rainfall like that this week.
Well, that is all I have for the news today. Be sure to check out the blog post in the morning for a fresh forecast post!
