I don’t care that this isn’t weather related, I am excited. You may hate this move or love it, but KD going to the Warriors on Monday is one of the most significant moves in NBA history. The Golden State Warriors now have one of the best rosters assembled in NBA history, and I am ridiculously excited for basketball season. Also of note: KD wanted to be a meteorologist growing up, so it is on fitting I mention him tonight.
The weather today was insane
I just got done writing about this no more than 15 minutes ago, but it is worth mentioning in this as well. The atmosphere unleashed on us today, and it was crazy.

We had as much wind damage from a complex of thunderstorms as I can remember seeing recently, and over 15,000 people were without power after the storm.
Hurricane season is heating up in the Pacific
I spoke about this yesterday as well, but it is even more true today, as Tropical Depression 4 has formed in the eastern Pacific.
Blas is still an intense, major hurricane with 125 mph winds. He has had that for the majority of the day, and has fantastic satellite presentation.
The storm we ought to be more concerned with is Super Typhoon Nepartak, as it is an extremely intense typhoon moving directly for Taiwan. It is estimated to have 170 mph winds currently, and is forecast to make landfall as a 140 mph hurricane.
Derecho is the talk of the town
This is something I harp on and am frustrated by, but describing an MCS or potential MCS as a derecho before the storms even develop is irrational and negligent amongst the meteorological community.
It has become a buzzword recently, and it is just frustrating to see. I have used it in the past, and realized that it was wrong. Saying an MCS is likely to be a derecho before it formed is like saying a tornado is an EF-4 before it even develops. I will have more on this issue likely the middle of next week, but it is just something that frustrates me.
