Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:
*** Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued ***
Valid until 8 PM CDT
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Warren and surrounding counties until 8 PM CDT. Clusters of thunderstorms are currently moving through the region with more thunderstorms moving in from the western portion of Kentucky.
Numerous thunderstorms have formed across the region due to surface convergence along the fringes of leftover thunderstorms from yesterday. These thunderstorms have developed despite relatively weak instability noted across the region via latest mesoanalysis.
The flash flood threat remains the biggest threat for today. Precipitable water values are now approaching 2.3″, which is one of the highest PWAT values I can remember seeing while forecasting for Wx Or Not. This means that all thunderstorms today will be capable of producing torrential rainfall.
Reminder that a Flash Flood Watch also remains in effect for the entire region until Tuesday morning. Have a safe Independence Day and stay weather aware.
