Stormy Weekend For Bowling Green Weather

Real time Bowling Green Weather radar:

Today: Partly cloudy, with showers/storms likely. Highs around 80°F. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a slight chance of showers. Lows around 64°F.

It is nice to admit that yesterday was a day that fully ruled across the region.

Highs ended up in the mid 80s (3 degrees below my forecast high, technically), with sunny skies and a stray storm to cool us off. Perfect summer day! Today will be a bit different, as a weak shortwave and associated positive vorticity advection move our way. This will create an environment favorable for lift, and will allow us to see more in the way of showers and storms.

This will limit our high temperatures to only around 80 degrees, which will feel pretty good considering the past week has been really warm. In terms of storm threats? Heavy rain, lightning and a strong gust of wind or two are the most likely threats from these storms.

Overnight, look for skies to stay partly cloudy, with lows falling into the mid 60s.

Tomorrow: Partly cloudy, with scattered afternoon storms. Highs around 86°F. Sun. night: Partly cloudy, with storms moving out. Lows falling to around 63°F.

Tomorrow looks to be one of the simplest forecasts of the entire past week.

I am excited about that, and you should be too! The best forcing associated with a closed mid-level low will be taking a surface low through the Great Lakes region during the day. This will drag a weak cold front into a warm and unstable environment across the region, leading to scattered thunderstorms.

Look for highs to end up hitting the mid, to possibly upper, 80s across the region.

A lot of this depends on longevity of the storms as a whole, and that will be what we need to watch for. Overnight, the cold front will move out, with a slightly modified airmass moving in. Lows will fall into the low to mid 60s.

Memorial day: Partly cloudy and warm, with an isolated storm possible. Highs around 87°F. Mon. night: Partly cloudy, with lows falling to around 65°F.

Happy Memorial Day, folks!

We will never be able to fully thank those that gave all for our freedom, so it is nice to have a day to remember them, and celebrate those veterans that are with us today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Service men and women. I’ll never be able to thank you all enough.

Anyways, your memorial day is looking very summer-like. It is gonna be mostly sunny across the region, with really warm conditions. Look for highs to end up in the mid to upper 80s, with a stray shower possible.
