Today: Partly cloudy, with a high of 80°F. Tonight: Mostly clear, with lows around 58°F.

Both will generally tell you the same thing: an abundance of sunshine, with seasonably high temperatures. The reason we can do this is because the majority of the United States is under the influence of an “Omega Block” Pattern.

This is when a strong ridge is sandwiched in between two fairly strong troughs to the east and west of the ridge axis, and the resulting upper air maps look like the Greek letter, omega. Overall, this pattern is incredibly boring, with highs getting up into the lower 80s. Overnight, skies should be partly cloudy with lows in the upper 50s.

Tomorrow: Partly, to at times, mostly cloudy. Highs around 79°F. Wed. night: Mostly cloudy, with isolated storms. Lows around 61°F.

This pattern is a drag to forecast.

It has been this way since this past weekend, and it finally looks to move out soon. But beforehand, the weather will remain somewhat of a constant. We have the trough moving closer throughout the day, and this will allow clouds to invade the region. Overall, though, a bland day.

Temps will end up in the upper 70s, and maybe lower 8os in some spots. Overnight, clouds will increase, as well as scattered showers and storms possibly effecting the region. Lows will fall into the lower 60s.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with showers and storms. Highs around 71°F. Thur night: Cooler, with partly cloudy skies. Lows around 54°F.

Thursday will change it up!!

A surface low pressure system will finally form to our northwest in response to a jet streak rotating around the base of the mid level low pressure system as it moves eastward.

This will give us a lifting mechanism to spark off some thunderstorms during the day.

Highs will ultimately reach into the lower 70s, but may be a bit lower in some places. Overnight, the cold front won’t really make it all the way through, but it will get a bit cooler, falling into the mis 50s overnight.
