Gloomy and Cool Weather Coming to Bowling Green

Real Time BG Radar:

Today: Mostly cloudy, with showers likely by the evening. Highs around 59ºF. Tonight: Cloudy and windy, with rainfall. Low of 57ºF.

The next 24 to 36 hours of forecasting are going to be absolutely wild. This forecast is going to be challenging across the board, as many things have to come together to make this verify.

So, here we go. We have a strong trough of low pressure moving into the central United States by this morning. In response to this, strong low pressures at the surface, low levels, and mid levels are likely to form. This will begin to impact our weather by late afternoon/early evening.

Rainfall will begin to increase in coverage as we head on into the evening hours, but before that, it looks to be cloudy and warmish. Highs will likely top out in the mid and upper 50s, but if we can get some sunshine, we can get temps into the lower 60s.

This is when thing get more interesting. As the low intensifies and moves northeastward through the region, precip will be constant throughout the night. Thunder is actually a possibility as forcing for convection will be quite strong. Aside from that, winds gusting into the 30 and possibly 40 mph range will likely be heard and felt throughout the night.

The low overnight will be tricky, because the low will be moving through the region. This will actually warm temps overnight, so the low will likely occur right before midnight, in the mid 50s.

Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy, with showers/storms possible through early afternoon. High of 58ºF↓. Wed. night: Cloudy, with a rain/snow mix possible early. Low of 33ºF

Ahh, Wednesday will be interesting as well. As the low passes through the region in the early to mid morning hours, our high will be reached. Some models are advecting high enough dewpoints into the region to create an environment that would support a weak line of thunderstorms along the cold front.

At this time, it does not look like anything severe would come from this outside of gustier winds and heavy rainfall. The high during the day will likely end up in the upper 50s, before falling quickly into the upper 30s by late afternoon.

And the interesting forecast continues. Models continue to paint a scenario in which we get a rain to light snow event across the region during the evening hours. Personally. I don’t believe that we are going to get much in the way of snowfall, and even if we do, this shouldn’t cause any travel headaches.

Overnight, look for lows to fall to around 33ºF.

Thurs.: Mostly cloudy and cold. Highs around 37ºF. Thurs. night: Partly cloudy, with a low of 26ºF

Well, Thursday looks to be pretty calm at least! The low will have moved off to our eats by this point, and this will put us into much cooler conditions and much more of a lackluster weather day. Look for highs in the upper 30s.
