Fairly zonal flow across the region today will produce some “stagnant” weather. We’ll likely be stuck with mostly cloudy skies today. The warm temperatures will continue to stick around as we’ll see highs around 54°.
You can expect a few breaks in the clouds overnight as lows drop to around 38°
Tuesday 2/23 – Mostly Cloudy – High 56° / Tues Night – Scattered Showers – Low 54°
A disturbance to our south will continue to move in our direction. Warm air advection will begin to spread over the region once again. This will lead to warming temperatures despite widespread cloud cover. A few sprinkles will be possible late in the afternoon. Highs will be around 56°.
Tuesday night will bring widespread scattered showers to the region. Perhaps a rumble of thunder is even possible. Lows will remain mild, around 54°.
Wednesday 2/24 – Showers and Thunderstorms Possible – High 57° / Wed Night – Light Rain/Snow Showers – Low 33°
It looks like the center of low pressure will pass very close to south central Kentucky. This will lead to showers and thunderstorms throughout a majority of the day. However, it should be noted that if the center of low pressure passes to the west of the region, a few strong storms may be possible. Highs will be around 57°.
As the low pressure pulls away from the region, expect colder air to begin to filter into the region. This will make for a gradual transition to a rain and snow mix during the overnight hours. Lows will be just around freezing.
