Today 2/1 – Isolated AM Showers; Partly Cloudy – High 56° / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 45°
Isolated showers spread across the region during the overnight hours. Some isolated showers will likely linger into the morning hours, however, these should decrease across the region as we approach noon. Partly cloudy skies are expected during the afternoon with a high around 56°.
Partly cloudy skies will continue into the overnight hours with a low around 45°.
Tuesday 2/2 – Warm; Isolated Showers; Windy – High 71° / Tues Night – Thunderstorms and Showers – Low 47°
On Tuesday, a large trough will begin to move into the region. This will bring stout southerly flow across the region as a warm front lifts northward. Southwesterly flow aloft will aid in strong warm air advection across the area. Divergence aloft may also be sufficient enough to lift some isolated showers during the day. This will hinder temperatures a bit, however upper 60s to low 70s are still expected.
During the evening hours a low level jet on the order of 50-60 knots will develop. This will aid in the formation of thunderstorms across the region. Instability values are in question, however shear will be sufficient to include a chance of severe weather in the forecast. The main threats will be damaging wind and isolated tornadoes embedded in a long line of thunderstorms. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area in an enhanced risk of severe weather.
After the cold front passes through the region, some lingering showers may be possible. Lows will be around 47°.
Wednesday 2/3 – Partly Cloudy; Decreasing Temps – High 47° / Wed Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 30°
On Wednesday, high pressure will begin to move into the region. Thus, morning clouds will give way to partly cloudy skies fairly quickly. The high temperature will be set in the morning hours around 47° and will decrease throughout the rest of the day. Notice the temperatures falling through Tuesday through early Thursday on the graph below.
Wednesday night will bring partly cloudy skies to the region with a low around 30°.
