Warmer Weather on the Way

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Wednesday, 1/27 – Mostly to Partly Cloudy – High 37˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 24˚

Good morning, Bowling Green! For the students who have had a few snow days or for the WKU students who (finally) started back yesterday… It’s already hump day!

While the snow this past weekend and last week definitely made for a fun experience, it’s back to the daily grind! Snow on the ground makes things a little difficult.

Luckily, warmer weather is on the way! We’re talking temperatures in the 50s by this weekend… Kentucky weather, let me tell ya.

A cold front passed through yesterday, causing colder air to filter in behind it. Our high of 50° was recorded around 2 AM, with temperatures dropping from then on!

Building high pressure at the surface will keep us dry today, but clouds will stick around with partly to mostly cloudy skies likely. High temperatures will make it into the mid to upper-30s, with temperatures dropping into the mid-20s overnight.

Thursday, 1/28 – Mostly Sunny – High 47˚ / Thursday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 30˚

I know you’re probably asking, “Where’s the warm weather?!” Patience, patience.

Thursday, winds from the southwest will help us hit back into the mid-40s! Sounds unseasonably warm, when in fact, 46° is the climate normal for this time of year in Bowling Green. So get pumped about being normal!

Mostly sunny skies will become partly cloudy overnight, as a wave passes through the region. The precipitation associated with this system will stay closer to the pressure center near Canada, keeping us dry here in Bowling Green. A wind shift will drop temperatures right around the 30° mark near sunrise.

Friday, 1/29 – Mostly Sunny – High 45˚ / Friday Night – Mostly Clear – Low 35˚

The cold front that passed through overnight Thursday will not be very “cold”, so temperatures may only budge a degree or two as the new air mass moves in Friday. High pressure will build in quickly behind the front, keeping us nice, dry, and sunny for the end of the workweek!

Temperatures will drop into the mid to upper-30s overnight, with 50s in store for the weekend (here’s a sneak peek)! Looks like we will have even more of a reason to look forward to the end of the week!
