Well today I actually have good news for you – the sun is back in town. A cold front passed through yesterday, bringing cooler temperatures and a drier air mass to Bowling Green, finally putting an end to the rain. A secondary cold front will pass through later today, causing another dip in temperatures with the chance for some clouds and a few sprinkles in our northern areas this afternoon/evening.

Overall, it looks like our best day in a while! Southerly winds will allow temperatures to top out above 50° before dropping below freezing overnight. The passage of the front could cause winds to gust up to 25 mph.

Conditions will continue to “behave” for the remainder of the week (we’re actually going to be dry and sunny), making studying for finals even more torturous for those of us who will be spending too much time in the library.

Thursday, 12/3 – Sunny – High 46˚ / Thursday Night – Clear- Low 28˚

Thursday will be the coolest day of the week as colder air behind the secondary front will have had time to infiltrate into the region. Tuesday brought us a high temperature of 62°, so highs in the upper-40s on Thursday will feel quite chilly! The sunshine should help to bring some warmth during the daytime hours as high pressure will begin to build into the region, keeping Bowling Green dry and sunny.

Temperatures Thursday night will drop once again below freezing, making it really feel like December out there. Average low for this time of year? 32°.

Friday, 12/4 – Sunny – High 51˚ / Friday Night – Clear – Low 28˚

Temperatures will begin to pick back up to normal and above-normal values beginning Friday with sunshine continuing to be present! High pressure, sunshine, and dry conditions are all that’s really needed to describe the end of the week. Temperatures will reach the low-50s Friday with lows in the upper-20s Friday night.

The weekend looks absolutely beautiful with upper-level ridging allowing for temperatures in the mid to upper-50s under mostly sunny skies. WKU fans have absolutely no excuse not to pack the Houch! More details on your gameday forecast to come.
